Choosing the right marquee size is the foundation of a successful event. Too large, and you lose the atmosphere; too small, and your guests lose their comfort. How to estimate the marquee you need
Check the site
Confirm the available ground area, access, slope, overhead clearance and installation space.
Confirm guest numbers
Start with your expected attendance and allow for any likely increase before the event.
Choose your layout
Decide whether guests will be standing, seated in rows or dining at tables.

Frequently asked questions about Marquee Sizes
Are the capacities exact?
How much extra space is needed around the marquee?
As a general guide, allow at least 1 metre around every side of the marquee for installation, anchoring and safe access. Some sites or structures may require more.
Can the marquee be longer than the sizes listed?
Yes. Many framed marquee systems are modular and can be extended in additional bays, subject to the dimensions of your site.
What if I need a dancefloor and dining area?
Choose a larger marquee than the dining capacity alone suggests. Dancefloors, bars, stages and catering stations can use a significant portion of the available floor area.
Does the capacity include furniture?
The seated capacities are based on the nominated table style and standard walkway allowances. They do not automatically include extra lounge areas, staging, bars, buffet stations or other event features.
